Crazy New World

So this book is very very odd. The whole open sexuality thing is just shocking! Little kids( like 4 and up) running around naked doing innapproiate things in bushes is absolutly insane. When this book was written these things were no where what life was like nor what it is like now and hopefully will never be. For someone to write this book in the 30's (I think that it was when it was written) they must have had some strange thoughts about the future. The author would have been deeply looked down upon when people read it for thinking of all these strange ways of having children and then they way the children were raised. The imagination of the author must have been huge to think of all those names for birthing stuff, the teaching stuff, and the games. It would have been and still is a shocking novel at any time in the history of the world.

First of all, thanks for posting! I was starting to freak out that I wouldn't have time to comment. Also I totally agree with everything you said. I personally don't know why a person would want to sit around and think about stuff like that. I try to avoid it at all costs, but whatever.

I think you are totally right about this book being odd! Because it is! But if you try to look at it as being like robots instead of people (which I guess is kinda the point...) it makes it kind of better. And instead of the kids doing strange things in the bushes, think of them playing battleship...I call red board! lol I love that movie...anyway, the book is not horrible if you just look at the plot that is starting to become a plot...just a thought.

I agree with you, but isn't it kind of crazy to think that one day this book may not be disturbing to the world totally, that people may one day be that open with their sexuality. I would say that we are still a far way from it, but definately making some progress of getting there.

I don't want to know what this guy was thinking when he came up with this book, personally.
